In an age when entertainers, sports stars included, can  make over 12 Million a year and CEO's 147 Million, I wonder if anyone else finds these salaries unconscionable.  Never mind unconscionable, how about obscene?  Is it just me or are these numbers so out of touch with the 99 percent of the World that our entire value system has to be judged as bankrupt.  Not to give any weight to the "Occupy" movement as a valid movement but isn't the object of their outrage the kind of situation that gives rise to revolution (Can you say "let them eat cake"?)?   Forget about Friends' "Peace Testimony", why would any sane person risk their life to preserve our way of life at this point?  Is it a way of life worth preserving or should we start all over again in the hopes we might get it right the next time or is this the inevitable outcome of man's greed?  And yet many people of good will contend that greed is good.  Even the poorest of us have our hd tvs and cell phones.  We eat out at least occasionally.  Have we been cooked like the proverbial Frog?  Do we care?  Personally I am thankful that I am just a pilgrim and this planet is not my home, I'm just passing through.  Like the Psalm says "Don't put your trust in Princes but trust in the Lord".  God has provided for me.  I was born at the right time in the right place to the right parents.  I have no complaints.  My life is all grace and mercy which have followed me all the days of my life.   My prayer is that my children and grandchildren and yours also get to live a life of grace and mercy as well.  But to do that I think they need to find their own value system and not blindly accept that of our present society.
