About Me
Greetings to all. I am a student of servant leadership, striving to apply principles of listening, empathy, awareness, persuasion, and more in my work. I am active in the economic development field as a freelancer with business, government, non-profit, and community organizations. I also do some research and writing for No Labels, a national citizens movement that is pushing back against hyper-partisanship and promoting common-sense bi-partisan problem-solving. I welcome and value the insights of others with similar interests. I am a member of the St. Louis Monthly Meeting, but attend Friends Meeting of Washington DC.

I recently led an interfaith discussion on faith and racial equality. Hand-out is attached for all who are interested.

This hand-out quotes several Quakers -- well-known and not -- who touch on the issue of equality, particularly in terms of race. I assembled these and talked about them briefly to illustrate how important this issue has been to Quakers since our origins and how our faith-in-action has evolved. The second page of the hand-out has some stats from the 2008 American Community Survey in St. Louis (where the discussion took place), which clearly point out that we have not even come close to our goal of equality.

I would value feedback and ideas. Peace, Blair
