Hello from Dallas TX.  I have been a member of the Dallas Friends Meeting since about 1983 and have gradually progressed from universalism to Christianity during that time.  I am very attracted to Convergent Friends as it seems to reconcile the various branches of Quakers.  I am a teacher of Art Appreciation and Humanities at a local community college and interested in whatever dialogue comes about here.

Hi everyone: quick note here to let me know if there's anything I can do to help facilitate discussion here. I looked up and there's currently 66 QuakerQuaker members in the four states making up this group! It'd be great if someone went through the list (linked in "Opportunities" above) and invited everyone to this group.

Thanks for the welcome Karen. I too am getting used to posting in this manner (as i think Charles related). I love to share (as some friends who know me can testify) - but i'm not sure of the protocol here and to be honest i'm not even sure what it means to be "Convergent". I will check to see if i can access 0lder postings -and "look" around a bit. I look forward to getting to know you all (small group at this point it seems!) I was invited here by a friend. I am not currently a *practicing* Quaker, not currently attending any Meeting regularly- but in my spiritual questing what i always return to is the idea(l) of being Quaker. It's really the writings of George Fox that inspire me most. And i do try to live a life as i imagine to be the Way of a Friend of God. I live in Santa Fe, as i think you all know...
